The Gladiatorz vs Metal Massive Attack

90 minute cap PvP PKRI – Melee/binds/range

Outcome: Win | Zybez link | Gladz link | Tip.it link

After approaching MMA a few days ago for a mid-week PKRI, we massed up 44 people to the fight against MMA’s 36. After waiting 30minutes for MMA to come up and meet us up at wildy we begun the fight. With the numerical advantage we managed to capitalize on that advantage. With us getting ko’s on MMA’s members and our members tanking MMA, we quickly killed their main pile forcing them into 15 man regroups. From then on, we chased their regroups for about 45minutes till MMA finally decided to call it off.

The Gladiatorz vs Wilderland

1 hour cap CWRI – All-styles

Outcome: Loss | Gladz link

After pulling poorly, we started with 28 fighters against WL’s 40. We started strongly but as WL’s played more of a factor in the fight – as we were fighting down 10-13 people at all times – they managed to pull ahead and win with 109 kills to our 154.

The Gladiatorz vs Downfall

Jagex Cup – 20 vs 20 category – Round 3

Outcome: Loss | Gladz link

We were matched up against Downfall for the 3rd round of the 20v20 in the Jagex Cup. After starting strongly and taking the lead, DF grabbed a few KOs and ended with 10 fighters remaining.

The Gladiatorz vs Hell Army

1 Hr PKRI

Outcome: Win | Zybez link | Gladz link |  Tip.it link | Video link | 2nd Video Link

Earlier in the week, we setup a PKRI against Hell Army for today. We agreed to the following rules.

  • Melee/binds/range
  • Spiders -> East Tree
  • No Corrupt
  • Highest Pull Attacks
  • Team when crashed
  • 5-Man Sniper Cap

Due to the mass celebration of the United States winning the World Cup (as expected), the fight was pushed back an hour and the time limit was shortened.

Starting:
Gladz: 114
HA: 35 on TS

We started off great, instantly taking control of the fight. HA began regrouping about 10 minutes into the fight, and spent the vast majority of the remaining time mass-sniping without a pile. As the time limit came to a close, we got word that a clan of 90s was crashing, so we chased them out while HA logged in and regrouped at RDG. As the time limit ended, Gladz stood victorious. I think it’s more than fair to say that we dominated from start to finish.

Ending:
Gladz: 123
HA: 66

The Gladiatorz vs AK Latin

Jagex Cup 20 v 20

Outcome: Win | Zybez link | Gladz link | Tip.it link | Video link

For the second round of the 20v20, we were matched up against AK Latin. We figured we may as well double-dip to make this fight even more interesting, so we agreed to make it for TWR, as well. After a short dispute, we eventually agreed to the tournament’s default rules.

Starting:
Gladz: 20
AK Latin: 19

We got off to a great start as we were able to KO our first few targets, while AK’s first pile did a great job tanking. Once we built a comfortable lead, there was nothing AK Latin could do to close the gap. After a quick ~7 minutes of fighting, Gladz stood victorious.

Ending:
Gladz: 18
AK Latin 0

______

Great job, everyone. We dominated from start to finish with a great mixture of styles, tanking, and organization. Keep up the good work, and I’m confident that we can with this category.

The Gladiatorz vs Crimson Raiders

1 Hour CWA Run In

Outcome: Loss

Well all this week we tried finding a fight for us and but we couldn’t. So we turned to the top 10 clans! Zach went to Cr and asked them for a short prep fight with the following rules:

* All styles
* No Corrupt or dungeoneering items allowed
* 1-Hour cap
* Turrets
* No cape-switching
* Fight on sight

Starting:

Starting

Starting

Knowing that this would not be an easy fight and having started off with half of Cr’s opts, we got ourselves together and put on our game faces!
As the fight started off, both clans got their first piles down at the same time despite the huge number difference. Although, as the fight went on Cr’s numbers were starting to prove too much, but we were determined to keep up with them still! Despite some of the flames from a few random Cr members telling us to end already only after 10 minutes in….we pushed on and kept up the fight the whole hour and kept up with Cr as well(considering the number difference).

Even though ending says we lost today guys, I’d say we won this. We were down the whole fight 3-1 basically and still managed 100 kills and kept them at 260 when they should have had 300+ easily. You guys did great today and if we had the same numbers as Cr this fight would have been a lot different!

The Gladiatorz vs True Ownage

Jagex Cup 20 vs 20 fight

Outcome: Win | Zybez link | Gladz link | Tip.it link | Video link

We got paired up with T0 for our first round of the 20 v 20 sub-category for the 2010 Jagex Cup. We’ve not had a proper matched fight in quite some time so we were unsure of how well we would perform.

We pulled a fairly decent 38 people to this non-mand matching fight on the 4th of July. After cutting out sub-120 participants we had a fairly strong level advantage (I think our lowest was 122 and he was the only one). Starting off strong we decimated our first piles while all of our member’s tanked for full food. It quickly became clear we were walking out of this one the victor. Thanks for the good clean fight T0, much respect.

Starting:(37v22) cut to 20v20.

The Gladiatorz vs Wilderland

Full Out Jagex Cup Match

Outcome: Loss | Zybez link

We got paired up against Wilderland for the first round of Jagex’s Combat Cup. Since WL’s memberlist is nearly twice as big as ours, we knew it would be tough purely from the numbers perspective. Despite WL initially trying to force us into fighting on July 4th since we have Americans and they don’t, we eventually agreed to fight on Saturday with the following rules.

  • Melee + binds + range
  • No Corrupt or Dungeoneering items
  • Sniper cap of 3

Starting:
Gladz: 153 opts
WL: 219 opts

Starting Options

Starting Options

While we were massing for the fight, our TS and forums were DDOSed, and this continued for the fight’s entire duration. Fortunately for us, the guy who did it gave us enough time to switch over to another TS, so we were able to resolve that issue swiftly.

As for the fight, we started off very well, getting the first two kills of the fight. We went kill for kill with WL until we lost the opts to KO while they still obviously did. At this point, WL began to completely ignore the sniper cap that they insisted upon, as they started camping our members. As the fight came to a close, WL ended with 56 fighters and declined our offer for a matching fight.

Ending:
Gladz: 0
WL: 168 opts

___________

Despite  aloss, we performed well. If we had anywhere near as many people as they had, we probably would have won. We’ve always been a better clan than WL, and the only thing they’ve had on us recently is numbers, which was shown today.

For our memberlist, pulling 51 people is terrific. Keep up the activity and continue to recruit, and those numbers will increase to the point where we’ll be the ones pulling 70+ people on a consistent basis.

The Gladiatorz vs The Moon Clan

1 hour cap PKRI

Outcome: Win | Zybez link | Gladz link | Tip.it link

On Monday, we asked TMC for a fight to get some practice. We agreed to the following rules.
1-hour cap
Melee + binds + range
Spiders to East Tree
No Corrupt or Dungeoneering items allowed
No cape-switching
Team to kill crashers.
Starting:
Gladz: 111 (1 TMC member in our pile)
TMC: 69

Having the numerical advantage, we instantly took the lead in the fight. TMC began regrouping less than 10 minutes into the fight, and were never able to recover. Despite the constant sniping of LG members who aren’t in TMC, we never lost control of our dominance in the fight. The last 50 minutes of the fight consisted of us chasing their constant regroups, which unfortunately we couldn’t do much about since almost all of our members ran out of runes and arrows. Two minutes before the cap was to end, MM crashed and began piling our members. While we agreed to team to clear crashers, we were left clearing MM while TMC gained a chance to fully regroup. We finally met up at RDG and took ending opts.

Ending:
Gladz: 117
TMC: 60
