They still intend to slowly add in weapon diversity.

Firstly: Thank fuck it's been canceled.

 

Secondly: They are just saying that so that the four people actually into the idea will have some hope for it being 'slowly rolled out'.

I'd be all for switching things up, they went about it in a buff every type of weapons damage way instead of giving things more niche utility, probably smart of them to not go forward with this until they can really come up with unique things for each weapon style that doesn't just mean everyone finding out what does the most damage
