There are so many things that you can do during a double xp that'll be worthwhile but most people tend to train buyable skills such as herblore, summoning, crafting, fletching, etc. It'll make leveling the skills even faster than what they currently are while saving you a ton of money training them outside of a dxp!

Do you guys have tips on making the best use of the bonus?

If you dont have much money combat / slayer / dg could be a decent use of time.

If you have money to blow; herblore/con/craft/hunter/smith

And at least do Herby Werby for this ^

Agree with above.

Also, use your dummies and proteans to maximize gains in the limited time.

Depends what your goals are in the game. Are you into questing? Check out the minimum requirements for all the quests and work towards those skills.

If you want to fight stronger bosses to get involved with our events more, and raising your combat as quickly as possible, combat is your best bet (leeching ED 3 with a clanmate, dummies, appropriate combat training https://runescape.fandom.com/wiki/Pay-to-play_melee_training

Or if you don't care, some of the slower skills are great to train on dbl exp: WC, mining, agility, fishing, RC, smithing, slayer (which also trains combat) ect.

Of course, buyable skills on dbl exp will save you money: Herblore, crafting, ect.

One piece of advice: DO NOT TRAIN PRAYER on dbl exp. The altars are not doubled. Save your money, and train prayer at the chaos altar in the wilderness during regular times. Save your dbl exp timer for stuff that's actually boosted.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I did not know this and bought some bones.

Why chaos altar?

One important concept is that double XP saves the same amount of time for all skills. In practice this isn't 100% true, but for the most part you can assume it is true, except Runecrafting which gets shafted because of how the skill is trained. So what you're looking to save is the other inputs in skilling - money or effort or some other input (charms for Summoning). In theory you should save money skilling on DXP, and the more money you can save the better. The best is doing something where you spend a lot of money and thus "save" a lot of money but where it is still within your budget. If you're not looking to spend money, then perhaps just a skill you don't like training since you have to do less of it overall.

The most popular skill for DXP is Summoning.

Thanks for this! I might have to look into summoning. Heard it's one of the slower more expensive ones.

It can take a bit to gather the charms, so if you don't have them yet just hold on to them for next DXP. But when it comes to sitting down to actually train Summoning is probably the fastest skill out there.
