Chicken Burgers

Happy to dredge this conversation back up with the express purpose of enragement.

I learned the other day that predominantly in the US chicken burgers don't exist. Let me be clear, they do exist but they call them chicken sandwiches instead. For those living in various countries, do the words "chicken burger" exist in your repertoire or do you call it a poultry pack or some other heresy?

If it is in a burger bun why is it not called burger? We (New Zealander's) call them chicken burgers.

I don't understand why americans call meat patties - burgers :/ it's kinda weird.

CHICKEN BURGER - chicken pattie and fillings between BURGER BUNS.

CHICKEN SANDWICH - chicken and fillings between SANDWICH BREAD.

So, if I go somewhere and order this and didn't want a whole meal I would say

"I will take a chicken burger, just the sandwich please"

I would also order it like that if it had a beef patty ? (well, not the chicken part)

Why does it have to be ground up meat to be a burger? ?

We also have steak burgers here. Steak in between burger buns with fillings - do you call that steak sandwich?

i think it is. if its unground beef than its not a burger. in america the word burger pertains to the presence of a patty. lol that word seems to urk some. "patty"
