Skaders Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 This guide explains how the Player-Owned Farm works and how to set up an efficient farm, whether your priority is XP or beans. It focuses on the optimal method, but also includes alternatives if you don't yet meet the farming level requirements. ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 POF is essentially raising, breeding, and selling animals. Once set up, it becomes part of your regular routine, an addition to tree and herb runs. 𓏲ּ𝄢 The currency used at the POF is beans. Beans are earned by selling your grown animals to visiting buyers, and you will use them to purchase the upgrades and other essential unlocks. Two Main Approaches 1. XP-focused: ୨୧ You focus on raising animals to Elder growth stage. This provides the most Farming XP per animal. You can still sell them after for some beans, though less than the sale of adolescent animals. 2. Bean-focused: ୨୧ You focus on raising animals only to Adolescent growth stage, then sell to the buyers for maximum beans per animal. 𓏲ּ𝄢 To understand the growth stages, please read here. ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 After completing Granny Potterington's tutorial, the first step is to set up your advertisement board. Recommended Advertisements (Best for Beans) ୨୧ Chinchompas ୨୧ Zygomites ୨୧ Dragons 𓏲ּ𝄢 These require 92 Farming. If you do not meet these requirements, please use the highest animals available to you. ୨୧ Chickens or Rabbits ୨୧ Sheep or Spiders ୨୧ Cows or Yaks ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ 𓏲ּ𝄢 For an early bean boost, consider buying adolescent dragons from the World 2 POF Merchants. They typically cost around 400k each, so purchasing six will total roughly 2.4 million GP. When the dragon buyer visits, you can sell these dragons for about 2000 beans each, giving you roughly 12,000 beans in total. This is more than enough to unlock the essential upgrades you need to get your farm running efficiently from the start. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ What to Buy First? 1. All pens (small, medium, large) + bank chest. 2. The ability for animals to breed in small and medium pens. 3. Farmhands (if focusing on beans). Prioritise hiring farmhands for the small and medium pens first, as these animals breed and grow faster than large animals. 4. Master Farming Outfit. A one time purchase of the blueprints, after which you buy the fragments to assemble the full set. The complete outfits costs a total of 54,000 beans. ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 In total you will have: 2 small pens, 2 medium pens, 2 large pens, and 1 breeding pen. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Your aim is to keep one breeding pair for each size category (small/medium/large), then raise their offspring in the second pen of that size. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ Optimal Setup: Small Pen #1 ୨୧ 1 Male + 1 Female Chinchompa (I can provide a good breeding pair). This pair will continually produce more Chinchompas for you to raise. A Small pen can hold up to 6 animals, so once the breeding pair has produced 4 offspring (bringing the pen to its 6 animal capacity), begin moving the children to the second small pen to grow. Small Pen #2 ୨୧ Raise up to 6 Chinchompas here. Raise to Elder for XP or Raise to Adolescent for beans. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Chinchompas best food is Woad leaves. Fill the trough in Small Pen #1 only if you are bean-focused. Fill the troughs in both pens to maximise growth and XP. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ Medium Pen #1 ୨୧ 1 Male + 1 Female Zygomite (I can provide a good breeding pair). This pair will continually produce more Zygomites for you to raise. A Medium pen can hold up to 4 animals, so once the breeding pair has produced 2 offspring (bringing the pen to its 4 animal capacity), begin moving the children to the second medium pen to grow. Medium Pen #2 ୨୧ Raise up to 4 Zygomites here. Raise to Elder for XP or Raise to Adolescent for beans. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Zygomites best food is Fungal algae. Fill the trough in Medium Pen #1 only if you are bean-focused. Fill the troughs in both pens to maximise growth and XP. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ Breeding Pen ୨୧ 1 Male + 1 Female Dragon (I can provide a good breeding pair). This pair will continually produce more Dragons for you to raise. The pen capacity of the Breeding pen is 4 animals, so once the breeding pair has produced 2 offspring (bringing the pen to its 4 animal capacity), begin moving the children to the large pens to grow. 𓏲ּ𝄢 You may hire a farmhand to auto-collect eggs if the breeding pen is full and if you don't check daily. Large Pen #1 & #2 ୨୧ Raise up to 3 Dragons in each large pen. Raise to Elder for XP or Raise to Adolescent for beans. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Dragons best food is Raw Tuna. No need to fill the troughs for both Large Pen #1 or #2 if you are bean-focused. Fill the troughs in both pens to maximise growth and XP. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ 𓏲ּ𝄢 Food only affects XP, not beans, so those who are focused on raising animals for beans only need to feed the pens with the breeding pair to keep them happy and healthy. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Make sure you assign the farmhands to your pens if you are focusing on beans. They will prevent animals from going past the Adolescent stage, ensuring you always have animals to be sold for the maximum beans value. ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 Traits may seem complicated at first, but once you understand the basics, they become one of the most powerful tools for optimising your farm. Here is a breakdown of how traits work and what you should be aiming for depending on your goals. 𓏲ּ𝄢 An unrolled animal is simply an animal that has not yet had traits assigned. You can use Trait re-rollers to reroll its traits to get the ones you want. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Animals can have up to three traits, but early on you'll mostly find animals with only one trait slot. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ How to get animals with Three Trait Slots? 𓏲ּ𝄢 To start producing animals with multiple trait slots, you need to work your way up. 1. Begin with a breeding pair that has 1 trait slot each and reroll until they both have the Genetic Mutation trait. 2. Breed this until you get 2-trait animals. 3. Once you have both a male and female with two trait slots, reroll both of them so they have Genetic Mutation and Genetic Instability. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Breeding animals that have both of these traits will eventually produce offspring with three trait slots. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ What to use Three Trait Slots for? 𓏲ּ𝄢 The best traits for Maximum Breeding Output is using the trait Study in all three slots. More animals to raise for XP/More adolescent animals to sell for beans. 𓏲ּ𝄢 The best traits to breed Shiny animals (required for the POF log) is using the traits Glistening/Radiant/Sparkling. Animals with these three traits significantly boost the odds of producing shiny offspring. 𓏲ּ𝄢 The best traits for having animals that require no maintenance is Immune + Joyful. Animals with both traits will stay healthy and happy without needing any food. Valuable if you are putting animals in a pen for the POF perks. ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ 𓏲ּ𝄢 If you are working on POF logs or achievements and would like to borrow some breeding pairs to help you progress, I'm happy to lend out some of my animals. 𓏲ּ𝄢 Please return the pairs once you're finished, as they are quite costly and I would like others to have the opportunity to use them as well. 𓏲ּ𝄢 If there is a specific breed you need for your logs (outside of Shiny animals), feel free to ask, I may have some extra pairs available to lend. ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ For players working on the Breeding Logs and needing Shiny animals: Manor Farm: Rabbits - Home Chickens - Home Chinchompas - Home Sheep - Home Spiders - Home Zygomites - Home Cows - Home Yaks - Home Dragons - Home • . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. • Anachronia Farm: Frogs - Home Salamanders - Home Jadinkos - Home Varanusaurs - Home Brutish Dinosaurs - Home Arcane Apoterrasaurs - Home Spicati Apoterrasaurs - Home Oculi Apoterrasaurs - Home Scimitops - Home Asciatops - Home Malletops - Home Bagrada Rex - Home Corbicula Rex - Home Pavosaurus Rex - Home ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ For players working on the Ravensworn Achievements and need pairs to breed them: Rabbits - Home Chickens - Home Chinchompas - Home Sheep - Home Spiders - Home Zygomites - Home Cows - Home Yaks - Home Dragons - Home ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹ Others: Scimitops Studly Pair with @Thefreaq A bunch of animals (check discord) with @Lemurs ⚬──────────✧──────────⚬ You can use Advance Time spell to speed up the breeding process for your animals

Guest Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 @skadersThe only thing I need is Malletops Lucidums to complete my breeding log. Have any by any chance to borrow?
Beric Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 1 hour ago, b1on1cginger said: @skadersThe only thing I need is Malletops Lucidums to complete my breeding log. Have any by any chance to borrow? That's the shiny version, so having one doesn't really do anything for you in terms of breeding another for the log. You can breed it from any colour of Malletops, just try to get the radiant/glistening/sparkling traits to increase your chance. I have a super crappy pair of one trait Malletops you can have if you're really hard up
