EOC or Legacy.

I've been looking over the evolution of combat and the old Legacy combat method and just want second opinions. Is it actually worth it to switch to EOC or stick to legacy?

I guess it's personal preference, never compared the two. I'd go with EoC though. Legacy was thrown in for people that don't like updates, so to me, EoC is the official modern cb system and it makes cb more funnish.

+ action bars make everything easier.

Legacy mode is just a reskin of EoC, except EoC is higher DPS, has higher burst (thresholds), EoC has stuns, and EoC has defensive abilities such as Freedom. It isn't worth playing Legacy.

If you want the old combat system, play Old School. As Professor Oak once said, there's a time and place for everything. It is neither the time nor the place to use the old combat system in EoC where things such as Freedom are an integral part of the game.

Yep.

The newer bosses, slayer monsters, quests, etc are all being designed with EoC in mind. You'll be doing yourself a favor learning to use it.

Personally I still love legacy combat mode. But if you want to be the most efficient and save the most money, you're forced to use the eoc mode. Why? Look at how many runes and arrow (I guess ammo stuff) you use in legacy. It is absolutely ridiculous to throw away all that money when you can just switch to eoc. Yeah, I didn't like eoc at first, I didn't like it for a long-ass time. I quit when it was announced, and I came back years later because somebody told me that legacy mode had arrived. I don't think I'd have ever come back to rs without it. After that, I played on legacy and used eoc very sparingly. But after easing in to it for a while they updated it so that you could use the legacy interface with the eoc combat mode, I was sold.

TLDR; EoC mode, legacy interface > Legacy mode

My recommendation is that you READ READ READ all the abilities for EoC. You should really take into effect their actual affect and damage when creating your ability bar. +Revolution is afk, so good for slayer and GWD +Manual is better DPS and you have better control over what abilities to use and when. +Legacy is great for Ice Barrage pking. That's about it :)

As Jade said - The new monsters introduced into the game are made to be incorporated with the Evolution of Combat in mind.

You will be doing yourself a fair favor to learn the system if you plan on continuing to play.

I afk scape hardcore and have no issue spending money on fucking air runes, so it's usually legacy for me unless I need to have an AoE ability or bossing.

Revolution is AFK, it cycles your abilities for you.

Is pure Revo better dps than Legacy?

I don't know all the mechanics regarding damage to calculate that, otherwise I'd be happy to calculate it.

A significant thing to remember, more specifically when it comes to magic, is AoE basic abilities. Chain and Dragon Breath alone might make EoC better than Legacy for magic, unless you're going to burst/barrage monsters in Legacy for AoE.

Until you go somewhere where AoE abilities would be hindering and you have to fuck around  with your ability bar.
