No, we don't use Discord.

I don't use voice chat very often to begin with, but I was interested in why our clan doesn't use Discord when it seems so prevalent in not only Runescape, but the wider gaming community as a whole.

 

I took a few mins to do some thread skimming, and came across 2 threads that had some good information of why  we use Teamspeak still, rather than make the move over to Discord. 

 

 

 

 

 

To quickly summarize the information that I found to be relevant:

 

• Teamspeak costs are included with our forum costs, so the issue is moot over server costs
• Discord, compared to TS, is a "privacy nightmare", it seems.
• Teamspeak has admin tools that aren't replicated with Discord, such as admin logs and certain permissions for higher ranks. 

 

Unless some of this information is outdated (the first linked post is from 2 years ago) then these seem to be the main reason why we use teamspeak.
