Deathcon
This topic will be continually updated throughout the release of the new skill, i will try to make an easy to see changelog. I hope to be able to help inform others with information on the new skill by trying to figure out as much of the skill that I can, bringing a load of info to 1 place. ~Changelog~ UPDATED! Spoiler -Ver 0.0.2 (3/11/20) -Added terminology for Time Sprites, Material Cache, Excavation Spots -Added info on Time Sprites in second post. -Added info on Mattocks/XP boosts in second post. -Ver 0.0.1 (3/6/20) -initial submit Archaeology Terminology! Quote Artifacts - You uncover these at Excavation(s) after your progress bar has been completed, restore them for XP; main source. Benches - This is where you'll restore your Artifact for XP Chronotes - Currency; These are much like Beans for POF Dig-site - Areas dedicated to training Archaeology Materials - Think of these as ingredients to fix the Artifacts, these are tradeable Mattock - The tool you will use to train Archaeology, it is the Pickaxe of Mining. Relics - These are the "overloads" of Archaeology, offering passive benefits to your character, limited to 3. Costs Chronotes to alter your configuration. Soil - This is essentially another way to gain materials; a wild-card of sorts, screen it for chances at materials, no progress towards artifact discovery. ------ Excavation Spot - Obtain artefacts, materials, and soil. Each spot will provide a group of materials which are specifically needed for the Artifact found there. Material Caches - Caches located away from the main site which guarantee a certain material and soil. Work similar to trees, when exhausted it's exhausted for all players. Each one only contains 1 type of resource. Time-sprites - Similar to Rockertunities but also slightly different. Permanently present but requires you to be active and follow them around the excavation site. While interacting with it, you will receive specific benefits. --------- --Gathering & Manufacturing Excavate areas to find Damaged Artifact, a full progress bar means a discovery! While digging away you will find Materials & Soil You take soil to "Screening Stations" This gives you another roll on the drop table from the excavation site -but- without progress toward an artifact. Depending on the artifact you discover it will require different materials to restore it. When you're attempting to restore an artifact you will need to be at a repair station ( one is at every major dig-site ) You see it here in the image above; Requirements - Restoration Station. You can also see the materials needed, if you do not have enough you either need to trade for more or dig it up yourself! You can look for "Material Caches" away from the main dig-site which can guarantee certain materials, allows for target farming of X material. --Restoration & Chronotes Alright you have all the materials you need to restore the artifact you've discovered WELCOME TO BENCHES! Hoard your artifacts and restore them all at once for crazy XP! This is going to be the largest portion of the way you gain XP. Ok, okay, so you finish mass producing these old artifacts....now what the hell do ya do with 'em? You can do a few things: FIRST Hand it into the Museum Curator, they look after it and award you with "Chronotes" this is the curreny we'll want for unlocks. SECOND Hand it to a dodgy collector; they will have a noticeboard of projects they're after, you can chip away at their request list Once a request list is finished you can sometimes gain Relics that you -cannot- get from anywhere else THIRD Keep it incase of a future use FOURTH Dissasemble the artifact for New Invention Components FIFTH ..Release it? --Leveling Unlock new excavations "mostly in the same dig-site" -Offers new projects to complete -Better material rates -Maybe even new materials The real meat and potatoes about leveling up is the joy of gaining access to a new dig-site Find all the digsite secrets! Loot chests with materials, encounter puzzles to be navigated! Find all the nooks and crannies which can include new excavations to train at. --Qualifications Diplomas and Achievements; the way you're recognized for your Archaeological work. Much akin to POP or the Anachronia Base Camp you can have a team of Archaeologists research things while you are off doing your own thing. Rewards -XP -Materials -Artifacts/Relics -"Some Spanking New Archaeology Drops" --Rewards Relics, up to 3 active at once, ancient invention / summoning Elite Skilling Outfit - Xp boost - Teleports +%Sucess rates excavating, using soil, faster artifact restoration Skill cape icon Skill pet Link to comment
Deathcon
Tips & Tricks - Sign of the Porters work with materials, get sent straight to Material storage ( think ore storage like M&S ) - Does not work with soil; Soil box akin to ore box however -GoTE / LotD will help - Digsite pendants - Compacted Digisite Pendant(s) - Skillchompas Time Sprites and why you should care These blue wisps are Time Sprites, if you're familiar with mining they are one in the same as Rockertunities. Think of these excavation spots like ore nodes, if you said the excavation spot in the above picture is akin to copper rocks, Time Sprites fly between all nodes of that type. This Time Sprite would fly between all these "copper tier" excavation sites, if you play follow the leader and keep up with it you will get enhanced material/XP rates vs you sitting at one node AFK. There might be multiple tiers of excavation nodes, Time Sprites only fly between the node they're set for, If you see multiple excavation spots in a Digsite each one has its own Time Sprite. T1 site -> T1 site ->T2 site -> T1 site ( if these were all in a circle, the timesprite is following T1 nodes it will not stop on the t2 node ) Boosts & Bonuses Only boosts obtained through the Archaeology skill will work. The following will NOT work: Clan Avatar, Auras, XP Lamps/Stars, Bonus XP, Refer-a-Friend, Incense sticks. The following will work: Daily challenges, Skillchompas, Archaeology outfits There will be no Urns/Juju potions for Archaeology on release. Mattocks - The pickaxe of Archaeology. Smithable Mattocks - (No +1, +2, etc versions) | Special Mattocks - Dragon, Crystal, Imcando, etc Bronze-Rune mattocks will be available in a shop. Dragon mattocks are obtained through Archaeology and through PvM. A Dragon mattock is needed to make the Crystal Mattock & Imcando Mattock. The Crystal and Imcando mattock are used to create the Mattock of Space and Time. There is also a hero mattock item. Link to comment
