Memphus
I'm raging because I destroyed my sacred metal fragments. The old ones don't work, according to Jagex. You'll have to gather new ones. Confirmed. They don't stack. I had to kill about 30 fucking convoys before I got 8 fucking fragments. This event sucks dick for that reason alone. The cosmetics are now absolutely impossible to get, even if you play 24/7 Link to comment
Beric
They were pretty difficult at the start of the last one, too. I didn't manage to get any until the drop rates were super buffed. Link to comment
Pyrolord
What's the best way to get renown for this one? Five points for every hit is really slow. And no, I won't be PvP. Link to comment

Go to a highly populated world (since they're mostly all Armadyl worlds) and turn on your PvP flag and skill. You don't need to attack anyone and very likely won't be attacked. Link to comment
Pyrolord
How about the divination part of it? Is that somewhat decent? Link to comment

Beric
Yeah, that's probably the very slowest way to earn renown. Link to comment
James
I'd like to break a few things down for people as a quick reference:You can cap at 30,000 renown per day. The event is projected to last for 6 weeks, or 42 days. This is a maximum potential of 1,260,000 renown assuming the event ends exactly after 6 weeks. Now a list of rewards and their cost:Dragon token (required for later reward sets) is 231,000. This requires at least 8 days to achieve. Warpriest gear is 200,000 for a full set. It requires a dragon token upgrade, so by default this also requires 8 days to achieve. The full set of emotes is 228,000 renown. This will also take 8 days. (7.6, so I'm rounding up of course)The titles will require 135,000 renown. 5 days. The three new abilities cost 158,000 renown. 6 days. Total cost for one faction's reward sets: 752,000/1,260,000 renown. The total cost for both reward sets is 1,346,000/1,260,000 renown. Buying a single factions full reward set will leave you with 508,000 renown which is 16, almost 17, huge lamps. Link to comment

I'm expecting them to roid the rates of and cut prices of stuff towards the end like they did last time. so I wouldn't worry about spending everything just yet. Link to comment
Rain
I'm buying the abilities and lamps Link to comment
Memphus
The abilities don't seem overly fantastic, and there will no doubt be a way to obtain them after the event. The armour sets are identical to the BoL ones (plus the effect on the new useless abilities), and will be obtainable in GWD after too, so no need to buy those. I will spend all of my renown on XP lamps. And I have given up on the Bandos cosmetics for now, they seriously need to fix that. I had all of the Saradomin cosmetics by the end of week 1. James
Does anyone know if I have to buy the titles in sequence? Or can I skip to the end and simply buy the final title in the set? (I'd like to use those points on lamps if possible) Link to comment
Beric
If no one knows then I'll try it once T2 opens. Those were going to be my first purchases. Link to comment

Damin
You can actually go above 30k if you take part in a skirmish that randomly occurs and win then some NPC pops up and hands out energy potions allowing you to get some more renown. I got 70 frags btw just from following the convoy then doing the div shit... idk what I did differently from you all but yeah. Link to comment

James
BTW those numbers I posted are wrong. RSwiki had the Dragon token's numbers listed incorrectly so it threw off the maths. Link to comment

Memphus
Getting tons of sacred metal now. But the fundamental flaw of this world event still persists: We are encouraged to spend our entire renown doing construction, for the XP. Doing any sort of PvP or escorting convoys wastes a huge chunk of renown, thus less free easy construction XP. And given that escorting convoys is the entire basis of the world event (it is entirely what determines your team's score, your renown means nothing), this is a flaw. I just stood at a construction node for an hour with 3 Armadyllians and 3 Bandosians all with PvP turned on, all swinging their hammers. Nobody engaged in PvP with one another. Jagex has failed, players are not participating because they designed this so poorly. My proposed solution: Make the construction have a cap (maybe even smaller than the current 30k, like 10k or something). Make the construction buildings have a much faster build and demolish time. And make all convoy-related activity (combat with NPCs or PvP or the divination) have no renown cap at all. Link to comment
