Deleted User
I'd like to share one of Hollands biggest and best traditions/holidays with you all... Every year in november Sinterklaas and his Zwarte Pieten arrive in The Netherlands, to bring gifts to our children (only if they have been nice). It's a tradition that we have for over a couple of hundred years. He arrives on his big boat, a steamer named Pakjesboat 12 (presents boat 12). It's one of Hollands most, if not the most favorite time holiday of the year. Dark days, with hot coco on the couch, singing songs for the old man and putting your shoe next to the fire place with high hopes Sinterklaas fills it with a present or candy. At december 5 (or sometimes 6) our parents fill a big bag with presents which we unwrap during the evening.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas : For our American culture barbarians or if you might want to know how Santa Claus was born.
