Intro to PvM presents
Toad's Kill'n'Chill ft. Gregorovic
Who is Gregorovic?
Gregorovic, colloquially known as Greg, is one of the four Heart of Gielenor (GWD2) bosses. Greg is the general of Sliske's forces in GWD2. He once was a terminally ill man who captured elves and experimented on them to try and prolong his life in the fourth age. When his experiments failed he sought out the Mahjarrat Sliske and struck a bargain with him. This went poorly when a Cthonian demon, Erasinus, took over his body and soul.
How do I access Greg?
In order to fight this boss you must have the following:
80 Prayer
Additionally, you will need to kill 40 sliskean followers, also known as kill count, to gain access to the boss. This cannot be bypassed with the totem of intimidation
How do I kill Greg?
With the advent of EoC and various power creep, the GWD2 bosses have become much more manageable for low to mid level PVMers. Some GWD2 bosses have mechanics we can ignore due to our power creep, however, Greg can attack with all three combat style, punish you for being out of position, and erode your antipoison. for this reason, dealing with the mechanics is easier than trying to ignore them.
Greg attacks with both melee and Range depending on your proximity to him.
He has a predictable pattern of attack
Three auto attacks -> Trick Knife -> Three auto attacks -> Summon Spirit -> Three auto attacks -> Glaive Throw
Trick Knife ( Melee/Ranged)
Gregorovic will throw a trick knife at the player (or one target if he is being fought by multiple players) using his right arm. The knife will hit three times in total and will bounce between players, even if they are in the lobby area. It will also bounce on any spirits or shadows lingering in the arena. The attack has 100% accuracy regardless of armour rating and can deal up to 2,300 damage. The type of damage dealt varies: if the player is within melee distance of Gregorovic then the knife does melee damage but if the knife bounces to a distant shadow or spirit then it deals ranged damage instead.
Summon Spirit
Gregorovic will yell "RISE, CHILD!" and summon a spirit of rage, spirit of delirium, or spirit of mania from mask scenery objects around the arena. The type of spirit summons depends on which mask he was closest to when he initiated the mechanic. The spirits only have 3,000 health and a combat level of 60, meaning that they can set off dominion mines if these are being used. Should the spirit touch Gregorovic, they will say a quote before dying off as Gregorovic absorbs them. The spirit of rage increases his combat damage, the spirit of delirium increases his poison damage, and the spirit of mania increases his attack speed. If the spirit is successfully tagged, Gregorovic will not absorb it, even if it touches him.
Glaive Throw (Mage)
Gregorovic will toss both of his glaives into the air and small shadows will appear throughout the arena. Move away from the shadowed spots, as after two seconds daggers and knives will fall from the ceiling on to the spots and deal up to 1,700 magic damage to players stood on them. It is possible to flick this attack, though Gregorovic's auto-attack will register before this attack. Despite the visual 1x1 tile coverage, the attack actually covers a 2x2 range, with the east, south-east and southern tile from the shadow also being danger zones.
Poison
Greg will poison the player. While antipoison can be used. This is not recommended, as Greg will deplete the timer on your AP. Instead it is recommended to bring at least one of the following:
Venomblood Perk
The Venom Blood perk can be made using invention with the following combinations
One Pestiferous component in a regular gizmo.
5 Healthy components in a regular gizmo
Two Pestiferous components and 7 Direct Components in an ancient gizmo
If you would like to know more about early level invention perking, check out the Intro to PvM Perks guide
Irit Incense sticks (~11k ea, will need 11 sticks for the whole hour)
Notable Drops:
Precursor to T80 Hybrid Armour: Dormant Anima Core
Crest of Sliske (~40M)
Main Hand and Off-hand Shadow Glaives (~7m and ~8m respectively)
Faceless Mask (unlocks Greg pet )
Wrapping up.
Greg is a boss that requires a little more prep as he messes with antipoison. Greg has mechanics that allow you to practice necessary skills at higher levels in a low stakes environment. You will be able to find guides and gear recommendations on PvME. I will caution you, these are optimizations that have been crafted to trivialize the fight, thus skipping the necessary skills you may learn on these bosses.
