Ads

For some reason I started getting ads on websites. In addition to the picture ads though, they'll also turn certain words into a hyperlink. Similar to this: 

 

 

Does anyone know how to fix this? It's starting to get really annoying.

Are you using the adblock extension?

You might have a virus. Check both your standard task manager and google chrome task manager

does the same ads pop up everywhere?

if so then u might want to look into ur add ons and see if theres something that looks odd or w/e

or its a virus so scan ur comp

No, they're different ads. The only addons I have are the adblocker and Chrome-to-Phone. I've already scanned my computer and found nothing. 

 

EDIT: There's even one in my signature now.

I have those hyperlinks pop up as well. But it's been going on for a long time. I just thought it was Chrome's fault.

You probably downloaded some piece of shit adware like Ask.com toolbar if you updated Java recently or something

I found it. Apparently Chrome was hiding a "Browse To Save" extension and it was installed on my computer. I'm all good now. 

 

 

Sheckky, if you use Chrome, I'd look for that for that extension and look in your program files in your control panel. Maybe you have the same thing I had.
