"Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans."

 

After only 13 episodes it's already gained a massive following, and for good reasons too. The show is heart wrenching and gruesome, which only makes it ever more fantastic. If the concept sounds even slightly intriguing, i'd recommend it. If it doesn't, i'd still say to give the first episode a shot.

 

Keep in mind it is Anime and in Japanese so blah blah blah, if you really don't like Anime or subtitles or something then just don't watch it.
