1.0----First off, you may be asking what is OSRS? OSRS is Runescape in its 2007 form but with QoL (Quality of Life) & its own set of unique and awesome updates supported by a totally different mod team then

Rs3.

 

How do i connect or play OSRS??

-A few simple steps and you'll plop right back into nostalgia mode on tutorial island.

 

First one of the few ways to play OSRS is play via web-browser here: http://oldschool.runescape.com/oldschool_index  Use your members account login information and you're already able to login as a fresh level 3 on tutorial island!

 

Second way to connect is to modify the current downloadable client supported by Runescape here:

http://www.runescape.com/downloads Select your Operating system to download.

Follow this guide to configure it to connect to OSRS.

 

***NOTE***  Set recovery questions for this account if it is new! Important for later on!

 

 

Now that you can connect and start to play OSRS we can get to the meat of this guide on how to start your fresh adventure effectively

 

 

1.1--Now im just going to dive right in and give my best advice and tips to start out on your 'Scapin adventure.

 

---Getting some starter food and the first few quests.

 

Ok as soon as you get to lumbridge castle you can bank your items upstairs and  start heading south of the church past the graveyard, by the fishing tutor are small nets you can pick one up and start fishing yourself some shrimps, a few inventories  will suffice for now, don't cook them yet! Head back to the lumby castle and talk to the cook and start cook's assistant. Once you've gathered the materials he requires you can use his cooking range to cook those shrimps.

 

With some food in hand pickpocket some men/women till you're level 5 thieving..save this gp as you will need it soon. Talk to the priest in the church and start restless ghost. Once finished head towards Draynor village and make your way to port sarim with some shrimp and coins (atleast 60gp). Head over to port sarim and take the boat to karamja for 30gp---Walk west towards brimhaven once you're on karamja, in northern brimhaven take the boat to Ardougne for 30gp again.

 

Once in Ardougne take a few shrimp on you  and head to the marketplace. Once here stand where i am in this picture to steal some cakes and bread, if a guard spots you, walk/run a few tiles toward the grassy area and back to the spot im standing on to de-aggro the guard. Get yourself a hefty supply of cake and bread  you want it to last for awhile, a few hundred!

 

 

1.2-----Ready to Train and Quest some more!

 

Now that you've aquired some food via cake stalls you should be set to use these for questing for awhile to get started.

 

Ok now that you have sufficient ammount of food, Home port to lumby...make your way back towards Draynor, grab an invy of cakes and bread and head north of Draynor to barb village. Climb down the hole in the middle of Barbarian Village...you will now be in the  Stronghold of Security.

As mention in the above of the guide, if you havent set recovery questions do so now.

 

Once in the First room in stronghold of security  Take a look here  to see a map of the dungeon, get to the end of each level for the chest, 1st chest is 2500gp and so is the second, the 3rd chest is 5k gp in total you recieve 10kgp. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE FOURTH FLOOR  YOU CAN BE 1SHOT AT 10HP. 

 

With your new found Wealth homeport once again to lumbridge,  Make your way to Varrock and buy an Air Staff from Zaff for 1500gp and head to the Rune Shop and buy roughly 300~ mind runes from Aubury ..if needed you can hop worlds to find a world with higher stock to save Gp. While still in Varrock you need to pickup 2 things, in the castle there is a pie dish spawn, grab it....also by the Eastern mine in varrock there are red berries grab a few like 4+...Now Back to Lumby! Time to air strike some cows for cowhides, collect the cowhides and bury bones, While it takes abit longer Bank in lumbridge as you dont want to be spending 10gp for the alkarid toll every time.

 

With the ammount of runes you had bought you should be 13 magic by now if not higher..if possible try to sell your cowhides or tan them and sell for some more Gp. After some magic training grab your pickaxe and get to some mining, you want to aim for 15 so you can mine some iron for a quest.

 

Save 6 Clay. 4 Copper and 2 Iron ore for Doric's Quest (it may be possible to snag some iron by people power-mining iron in alkarid on a high pop world) Before heading over to Falador pick some onions behind the farmers house abit north of lumbridge, Head to fally and bring some Gp 50+. Once in fally go into the park and find Wyson and ask him for some woad leaves, you will need 2...buy them and head back to Draynor.

 

Once in Draynor ask Aggie the witch to make you Red/Yellow/Blue dyes. Grab some cheese in her house while you're here aswell. Combine red and yellow to make orange. Back to Fally, Head northwest of fally to goblin village, once there Check this out you'll finish Goblin diplomacy in a few seconds.

 

 

1.3---More Quests for combat exp!

 

Now that you've completed Goblin diplomacy we can get on with completing a few other quests for combat exp.

 

At this point you want to buy a bunch of mind runes and fire runes from Aubury again we're going to be fighting some quest bosses now, you should have atleast 12-14hp from killing cows with wind strikes. WARNING THESE QUESTS ARE A BIT DANGEROUS WITH LOW HP AND ONLY CAKES.

 

Follow this guide to complete Witches House for some Hp exp, it will get you to 25 from around 12.

Bring a whole invy of Cakes and use fire strikes, take maybe 100 casts or so. BEWARE the last form can hit 8's if possible  use rock skin 10% def prayer ( can buy priest robes from varrock clothes store for a decent prayer bonus )

 

Once you're done with that quest, head  to port sarim and take the boat to karamja and travel back to Ardougne like you did  awhile back. Grab more cakes if needed while you're here.

 

Cut 6 logs from trees and have some food on you, Head south of  Ardougne and complete Tree Gnome Village  if you dont have someone to block the warlord for you, its okay dont worry, Stand where i am here, cast spells at the warlord and when he comes near you run back  south of the line i marked, he will start to walk backwards away from you, attack him again with a few cats till he comes near you again--run back past the line i marked....keep repeating till he dies and you get the orbs.

 

After Tree gnome village you can do waterfall quest for some more attack and  Str exp. With 25+ hp you can survive hits from the moss giants, but if you want to be safe punch one of the skeletons/zombies first so the mossies cant hit you for 16's while you try to run to and loot the chest/coffin.

 

Another Easy quest to get attack/magic/agility exp is The Grand tree. [REQS 25 AGILITY]

 

So far you havent trained agility if you've followed this guide to this point but you can take the spirit trees to the Stronghold and use the course there till you're 25 to start the quest.
