If you’ve not already met up with Sam for the 4th July festivities, then you still have time to get over to his party zone near the Cooking Guild for an XP boost and some celebratory items.

Top off your week with a quick trip to Vic the Trader who has a cart full of rare items and cosmetics that can be purchased for your unwanted Bonus XP.

4th July Celebrations

You still have a little time to enjoy the fantastic 4th July event going on near the Cooking Guild, west of Varrock, until Tuesday 5th July at 23:59 UTC.

Sam is ready to reward you with +15% Cooking XP when you fire up one of the celebratory barbeques that he’s lined up in the party area. His stall will also have some unique items up for you to get your hands on, including Liber Tea and toy kites.

Keep your eye out for balloon drops in the area too. Pop them for the chance to win a selection of prizes - now who would want to miss that?

Vic the Trader is here!

Get yourself over to the usual spot south of the Burthorpe lodestone and look out for the man with the mad moustache – Vic the Trader.

RuneScape members can trade Bonus XP with Vic until 11th July for credits. Credits can be exchanged at Vic’s store until 18th July at 00:00 at UTC for a variety of goods, including the Rune Ethereal Divination skilling outfit, Fletching and Nimble outfits, Starborn Diamonds to make parts of the Starfire Outfit and some seasonalsummer-themed cosmetics and emotes from previous years.

So if you’re missing a particular outfit piece or just fancy a little browse of his wares, be sure to catch him while you can!

RuneMetrics Tracker Change – lightweight version added

RuneMetrics has been upgraded to an ultra-lite version. This is a new way of showing interface boxes without a background, so that it won’t get in the way of your game window!

Additionally, two of the RuneMetrics Pro features have been moved over to the Free version of RuneMetrics. From today’s update, the Low Health warning (screen flashing red) will be available for free, as will the option to ‘Show Stack Values’.

You may also have noticed that your XP Tracker has changed - don't worry, the functionality has been revised and improved too!

The following fixes and tweaks have now been implemented. If you believe a change has not been documented, either in the patch notes or the news posts for this week’s update, please detail the change so that it may be added.

 

As always, be sure to submit a bug report should you encounter a gameplay bug or graphical glitch in-game.

 

Graphical

 


  • The Outfit of Winter and Armour of Seasons chest pieces now correctly use the players skin tone.
  • Replica female infinity gloves now have a little more colour in them.
  • Some tone issues with Cyreg Paddlehorn and the Old Crone have been fixed.
  • Walk animation overrides will now correctly display with a sheathed rod-o-matic.
  • Fixed an issue where one of Nylessa's eyes could become detached from her chat head when speaking to her.

     

 

Skills, D&Ds & Minigames

 


  • Un-used auto-sanctifiers, electrified box traps and B.A.N.K. standers will now stack in your bank.
  • The Eggsterminator no longer sends duel requests when using the 'Splatter' option on other players.
  • The Daemonheim aura (tier 2 and up) will now automatically bury the bones of the mysterious mages in Yk'Lagor's boss room.

     

 

Quests, Challenges and Achievements

 


  • Fixed a spelling error in Sueros' chat during Gower Quest.
  • Spelling errors in Romeo and Lucien's Gower Quest dialogue have been corrected.

  • Reduced memory usage, especially at longer draw distance and/or in busy areas.

     

 

Other

 


  • Players without RuneMetrics Pro may now benefit from the "Low health warning" feature and the "Stack value" feature.
  • Added a new ultra-light interface mode for RuneMetrics.
  • Changed the text of the claim loot button on the Telos reward interface.
  • All tier 92 weapons & the Reprisal ability are now listed on the relevant skill guides.
  • Telos's damage-over-time effect buff icons are now cleared correctly when exiting the area.
  • Fortitude, Soul Link and Teamwork Protection can now be used inside Daemonheim dungeons.
  • Heal Other and Heal Group can now be used again with the Barricade ability active without the caster taking damage. The abilities now have and share a casting cooldown of 10 seconds.
  • Extended the Barge ability's bind in PvM from 1 second to 6.6 seconds.
  • The Kalphite King's incendiary shot ability will now correctly deal damage to players.
  • The frozen key and arcane capacitor necklace will now no longer be automatically destroyed on death.
  • A 0 heal mark will now appear when blocking damage with Resonance without healing from it.
  • Updated the Summer HiScores interface to no longer show ranks.
  • Degraded ascension grips are no longer tradeable.
  • The Dream spell now causes the player's lifepoints to regenerate at 10 times their normal rate, up from 5 times, and now stacks with other regeneration methods.
  • Fixed Anja's & Hengel's chat and pickpocket options.

     

 

Ninja Fixes

 


  • Fixed various occurrences within Dungeoneering that would close other party members' interfaces.
  • The Catherby Range House's door is now jammed open.
  • Reduced the amount of chat when using the “Quick Repair” option on Wizard Korvik.
  • Clue rewards can now provide between 1 to 3 God book pages, rather than a single page.
  • Saradomin wizards once again appear to guard clue scroll treasure spots.
  • The "Destroy empty beer glasses when drinking" option now also applies to gnome cocktails.
  • Moved the shop interface's buy/sell value warning options into the Miscellaneous Settings gameplay options.
  • The wicked hood now has a right-click option to withdraw essence.
  • All types of chinchompa are now reclaimable from a gravestone or from Death in his office.
  • Removed some chat box messages when converting logs to planks at the sawmill.
  • Added a bank icon to the minimap at the Prifddinas Waterfall bank chest.
  • Swapped the “Customise” and “Max Guild” options on Max cape, allowing players to teleport to the Max Guild via the actionbar.
  • The plank-make spell will now continue to convert logs into planks until the player runs out of logs, runes or coins from their inventory.
  • Added Cooking skillguide entries for levels at which players will no longer burn various foods.
  • Existing keybinds for the Bank, Deposit boxes, Destroy confirmation, Divination within Daemonheim and Make-X interfaces are now more clearly noted within the relevant tooltips.
  • Ripper claws, wyvern crossbows, and camel staves will now broadcast to friends when they are dropped.
  • Raids lockout timers now appear on the Beasts tab info for Durzag and Yakamaru.
  • Herbicide, bonecrusher and scroll rewards from Daemonheim now have a confirm destroy interface.
  • The global broadcast message for achieving 5.4b XP has been reworded to state "200 million XP in all skills".
  • Removed Grenwall spikes from Sign of the Porter teleports, as they're already stackable.
  • Meg's adventuring advice is now tracked via the D&D tracker.
  • Items or stacks worth a billion gold or more can no longer be dropped to the floor.
  • Player-owned house workbenches now use the Make-X interface, utilising fewer categories.
  • The "Hide Player log in/out notification" toggle now about applies to the lobby chatbox.
  • Jewellery enchantment spells now use the Make-X interface.

 

 

Fyi. they are also hotfixing the codex from telos to not require the orbs to activate it... from reddit.

Hey all,

Just wanted to create this post ahead of time to inform you all that the hotfix related to the Ability Codices will be going out tomorrow morning instead. We had initially communicated that it was going to be today but this wasn't possible.

The hotfix will change Telos so that Ability Codices will drop in full instead of Dormant. Should you already have a Dormant Codex you will no longer need three Anima Orbs to create it once the hotfix is live.

Sorry for the miscommunication with this; hopefully this post will help clarify things.

Invention XP Amnesty

Not finalized.

  • Any lamp/star xp, D&Ds, Quest rewards, (etc.), will be 50% XP.
Bonus XP will work like normal. Disassembling/Siphoning equipment will be exempt as it will be considered reward experience. For Double Xp Weekends you won't receive bonus xp, but you will train equipment 50% faster. No planned Daily Challenges.

Other

  • Unlikely to increasing the friends list size due technical restrictions.
Drop tables will likely drop in reward value after the Mining and Smithing rework.

Ninja Quick Fire

Response Can you remove Cave Bugs from F2P slayer areas, since F2P can't kill them? sure

 

Can the Limpwurt Patch from the Spirit of Summer quest, in the Wilderness, get upgraded to a full Flower Patch after the quest? You might see that sooner than you think.

 

Can you do something about monsters in the Stronghold of Security? The recent buff to their stats was too drastic. Yes we messed up their HP and we are looking at it.

 

Can you let us keepsake a deathtouched dart? No

 

Can you move the anti-poison totem to pocket slot as promised? On the ninja back log

 

Can you allow the barrows amulet to be used on Linza's tomb? No

 

Can max Goebie reputation finally become a trimmed completionist requirement? It's been a year since it came out. Maybe

 

Can the ninja backlog be more responsive to what we ask about on the developer Q&As? Yeah? But Kelpie doesn't want to publish it. But I (Timbo) wouldn't mind publishing the top 10-20 of our backlog.

 

Can we get loot value on other bosses? (raids, QBD etc) Yes, we thought about it.

 

Can you please remove the message for opening the dungeoneering tokens from elf thieving? Yes

 

Can there be a clear option on fruit trees like calquats? Currently you have to chop it down and then dig it up. Yes

 

Can there be a permanent option in message to not show up while removing trees from normal tree patches? Yes

 

Can we have a better interface for remote farm like the one in 07? It's so clunky atm and difficult to find the other patches you need. Probably not

 

Can you give the ability to note the adamant dragons' bar drops to the Elite Karamja gloves while being worn? Probably not

 

Can you change spirit gems to be alchable? Yeah? If you want to throw away Nature Runes

 

Can the boat-ride cutscene for the Fremmennik Isles of Jatiszo and Neitiznot be skipped? Yes

 

Is it possible to update the map to show your gatestone locations (and group gatestone) Not possible

 

Allow the player to teleport to their gatestone from the map (if the above could be done) No, but you can put it on your action bar.

 

If possible, allow the map to show what keys are required for floors by replacing the ? on a locked room with the key required? No

 

Can the boss room door let you leave as soon as the boss is dead, rather than waiting until you have no adrenaline left? sure

 

Can the Hexhunter bow be changed to a shortbow instead of a shieldbow.? Maybe, Probably. We need to look at the passive for it, but we want to make the bow great again.


Invasion of Port Sarim


General Information

  • Dates: July 11th - July 25th
Available to F2P Scaling combat mobs with unsafe death. Graphical Rework

Activities/Skills

  • 3 activities where each interact with a choice of 2 skills.
Smithing/Herblore: Creating cannonballs/Mixing black-powder Construction/Crafting: Repairing damaged areas Firemaking/Range: Firing a cannon at enemies.

Rewards

  • Oar/Cape/Head overrides
XP benefits

Other

  • Xp will be capped per day and it should take about an hour to reach.
The event mainly takes part on the roof of the Port Sarim jail. Jed, The Iron Link is back to invade the prison to kidnap more people.
  • The first Arc antagonist.
For right now the ships will remain trapped, but hopefully one day it will look more natural.

The Arc


General Information

  • Release Date: July 25th
There will be a series of islands introduced. The first chapter introduces: Waiko, Aminishi, Whale's Maw.

Tales of the Arc

  • Requires Membership
Permanent Content. Required to access the Arc.

Boats to the Arc

  • Community event similar events to the Lost sword of King Raddallin or the opening of GWD2.
Each day uses different skills. Building the boat that you will travel with towards the Arc.

Other

  • Future quests are plausible.
The narrative is being brought to the east separate from the main-land. The possibility of a new continent being in the east has yet to be determined. No planned Achievement Diaries/Tasks.

PSA: At least for this week and the next, doing half of your cap may be worth it if you'd like to exchange bxp for Vic. I got 110k cooking bxp w/ fealty 3 from the quartermaster, which turned out to be 89 credits, I believe. :woeh:  Super happy to have bought my artisan's set!
