Deathstar
I got fucked around a little bit. Had to pay retail for windows 10 NCIX wanted $10+ for shipping on any parts so I lost a few dollars going to other merchants on a couple items had to pay sales tax once or twice blu-ray drives come oem. no cables/no software. too much work Monitor is a nice deal. SSD is a great deal. PSU is a good deal. Mobo is solid. GPU is a great deal. ram is sufficient. got jerked around on the i5 a little bit from a few retailers (selling just the chip, wtf?) so went to amazon for in the box w/ fan. I also got a free copy of Civ VI from buying the rx 480 which I was going to buy anyways. Link to comment
Deathcon
Everything seems solid. just be sure to keep the Win10 CD ( i dunno if it comes with the product key sticker anymore past win7 ) in case anything happens. Link to comment
LiveviI
Throw one of these on it. The stock cpu heatsinks suck. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181029 Link to comment

Overall this build without the monitor and OS was around $650, which is what people usually show off anyways. If you have monitors and can get OS free from your university or work then this would be around $650 for a really good build that will still be high-end in 3 years. edit: 200R case is $44 on amazon right now - https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-200R-Compact-Case/dp/B009GXZ8MM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480087427&sr=8-1&keywords=200r Link to comment
Deathstar
Did a bit of finegelling around tonight. cancelled a few orders and placed them elsewhere, got a price match from amazon. got the monitor cheaper from newegg. saved about $50 from hard work and discount codes. Link to comment
Joshjrn
Looks good for a budget build, and I've actually heard good things about the stock fan for that processor. Link to comment

Thanks mang! If i had bought a $25.00 copy of windows or had one handy it would have been under $650! budget for sure. Link to comment
Damin
Looks solid, you'll be fine with that stock cooler long as you don't plan on OC'ing it a ton. Link to comment
Rafi
Your dad isn't a hardcore user / video editor / intensive app guy is he? 8GB Ram isn't much these days for a desktop as far as I'm aware (a year ago I got 16gb in my laptop), but if he's just doing everyday apps I'm sure 8gb will suffice for a few years. Looks like solid specs/price though. And I think designing/building it for your dad is an awesome present. Link to comment

Even under heavy load my temps are great. Link to comment

I still have 8 in my desktop. The mobo has four slots so he can upgrade later. Link to comment
