Too many login attempts

Anyone else getting this message, or got this message despite it being the only time they attempted to log in?

I tried using my phone as a hot spot, tried using a vpn, tried restarting my computer, waited a flipping hour, etc...no luck

 

I read on support that it's an occurring problem for some, but I'm not sure how old that article is.  I'm pretty ticked off I can't get a farm run in today....

yeah its been happening more often with people trying to hop worlds for caches.

same, i was in the middle of getting sarag key lmao when it happened.

I have never seen that on a first log in attempt. I'd be paranoid and changing my password

Yikes.   I'm now hoping not to run into this.

Weird to run into this on a first login attempt. I got it a few weeks ago when I was hopping worlds a lot - the message lies to you. I don't recall where I read this, I think someone linked it to me, but when it says try again in 5 minutes, it really means 30, and every subsequent failed login attempt adds 15 minutes to your timer. I was locked out for 2 hours.
