Moto Bro
So I got this computer about a year ago and it came with a free year of Norton's Premium Anti-Virus/Internet Security Software but it's now only got 30 Days left. I also have been running AVG free as well but I don't want to rely on the free version of something to protect my PC.So what does everyone recommend? I looked at 3 all with a price around $60 for 1 year of "premium" protection: AVG, Norton and McAfee. They all also had cheaper software that was just basic anti-virus but the "premium" versions include online back-up for your PC if something goes wrong, as well as other features. I don't want to spend more than $60 for a year of protection but I also don't want the "cheapest" program if it's not the best. Link to comment
Darktigergx
One major thing is you shouldn't be running 2 antivirus programs on your computer. They can interfere with each other. I use free anti virus programs with out a problem. I had avast anti virus for about 2 years and had zero problems. When I reformatted my computer my friend recommended Microsoft Security Essentials, which is also free. So far no problems. @ others are AVG, and COMODO which I have heard good things about. I got rid of COMODO cuz it was a pain with some of the games i played and Im too lazy to configure it. Link to comment
Wayne
Get Nod32 or Kaspersky if you want a really good one. They can be pirated, if you do that kind of thing. Link to comment
Damin
Windows Security Essentials like Dstar said, and also like Dark said: Don't run two they can interfere. Link to comment

Joshjrn
The most recent update of Windows Security Essentials is very, very good. Good enough to make me switch from Avast which I had used for years. Link to comment
