Mine happened not to be, and their vet also gave it the green light. I feed them homemade food, so I've talked to her extensively about what they can/cannot eat and in what ratios. Link to comment

It's made of plastic and its hollow with a hole at the bottom so that you can suck the milk out of the bowl. Checkmate, not drinking it straight out of the bowl. Drinking out of a spoon.
