Joshjrn
If Fractal made a trashcan, I'd buy that as well. Link to comment
Blank
Only if it has motion sensors and opens when you get close. Dstar do you recommend a better CPU cooler. Just in case this new one craps out? Edited August 28, 2014 by Blank Link to comment
Joshjrn
Those are fucking annoying. I'd prefer have to motion over the lid Link to comment

Blank
Nah. You thinking about liquid cooling? I think this mobo has a preset for over clocking. I tried it and it crashed the computer all the time. Link to comment
Deathstar
This is an updated build:http://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshjrn/saved/YdQcCJTweaked the processor to chase a combo discount, swapped out the Black for Blue, upgraded the gpu, tweaked the RAM.ETA: Do I need a dedicated CPU cooler? The processor i got didnt come with a cooler, so i had to get one. After markets are better anyways. Im all about extending the life of this computer. I forgot you bought that processor lol... Link to comment
Blank
Havent ran into problems yet with it. Works fine. Ive had a couple of friends look over the build before I bought everything. anyways, liquid cooling does look cool though. Link to comment
Joshjrn
Am I the only that that finds it a bit unsettling that liquid cooling tubes run directly above the most expensive component in the entire build? Link to comment
Blank
Put an egg inside. I hear that stops radiator leaks. Link to comment
Deathstar
Noctua or corsair hydro series. hydro series has loud fans and has pumps that can crap out. Noctua is supposed to be better than cooler master. Something like this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhu12s or this... bigger is better http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhd14 Link to comment

Blank
I think the cooler master fan was like $45. Im happy with it. Just the rattling is annoying. Hopefully this new one fixes it. If not ill look into those. Ill post a pick of the final look later on tonight as it looks better when its dark. Also whats so funky about the processor i got? Link to comment

Ymesocool
Oh, forgot about this topic. I'm in the process of building my own pc as well but like Josh, I've never actually done it. I'm going to be buying parts over the next few weeks. Let me know what you guys think about my build. I'm cutting myself off here for the budget but do let me know if this setup is optimal, if there are bottlenecks, or I could get significant performance increase in a few more bucks.http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZMxvD3 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Bc7xxrI saved you like 100 dollars.Do you like blue lights? your case has blue lights. The ram you picked is 1.6v. basically your computer will downclock it to 1.5v and you will lose some factor of speed... basically not worth it. There are rumors that it shortens your cpu life if you run it at the higher voltage manually... whatever.for 12 dollars more you can get 100W bigger PSU (EVGA 750W gold+)For 4.5 dollars more you can get faster RAM (1600mhz to 1866mhz)That's what I found going through really quickly. There's a reason the WD blue and Seagate 1tb harddrives are the popular ones. You could opt for either the z87 or z97 Asus mobo that you picked with the 4670k or the 4690k... but my pick has a big rebate and is cheaper. Those boards are equal footing. Just fyi - the g45 and g65 model mobos from MSI were improperly flagged has having on-board wifi a while back... they do NOT.So do I need an mobo that has on-board WiFi to connect to wifi or wat? Blank
Or buy a Wifi card. 10-15 dollars. Link to comment

Blank
Like I said before liquid cooling would be the best. Aesthetically pleasing and its the best cooling. Other than that the Heat sinks are bulky and could cause problems with space inside the case. As well as cable management. (Just a few things i noticed during my build). It works well though.
